Glyphosate Fact Sheet Here-2

The Ag Secretary appointment is imminent. Many factors go into selecting and appointing an AgSec, and several candidates have already been considered. There is hope that Jimmy will be able to garner the trust of team Trump and represent MAHA interests – and be confirmed in Senate!

Jimmy has upper-level USDA government experience in the previous Trump administration and was loved by the previous USDA secretary and farmers.

He has a solid grasp of the challenges and opportunities within the USDA at large based on his experience as a regenerative rancher, educator and his previous role in the USDA under Trump.

USDA Experience

Jimmy served as a regional coordinator that managed 5 states and 3 agencies in FPAC – Farm Production and Conservation and reported directly to Secretary Purdue.

He is a Senior VP for USDA’s Climate Smart Program Trust in Food Initiative that includes:

  • Managing a $40 million USDA Climate Smart grant across 19 states; 500 producers involved to receive $17 million to implement conservation practices; monitoring and research for carbon capture that builds organic matter for soil health.
  • Managing a $7.5 million grant under NRCS with matching grants from private sector ($15 million in totality), called America’s Conservation Ag Movement.

Jimmy Emmons Story

Conservation has been a cornerstone of the Emmons family for generations. Back in 1934, when a big flood occurred, Jimmy Emmons’ grandfather witnessed all of the topsoil to the depth of the plough plane washing off into the river. The personal event became a stark reminder of the need for soil and water conservation. Jimmy’s father later experienced a similar event.

When Jimmy took over Emmons Farm, he began implementing no-till practices on the land, which now includes 2,000 acres. As Jimmy learned more about other conservation practices, he also started using crop rotations, cover crops, and planned grazing management to reduce soil erosion from wind and water.

Jimmy was one of the first in his area to experiment with pollinator strips and companion crops to help control sugarcane aphids in grain sorghum. These practices create beneficial habitat for crucial pollinators, which in turn helps control pests without the need for insecticide. Although the yield on fields with the strips and crops was less than average, the net profit was greater since Jimmy did not need to buy insecticide.

On the livestock side of Emmons Farm, Jimmy uses planned high-density stock grazing. This system mimics the way the prairie was grazed by native herbivores in the past. An innovative portable water-station and portable shades designed and built on the farm, along with electric fencing, have made this grazing plan possible.

Jimmy has owned Emmons Farms and Emmons Ventures from May 1979 – Present. he is located in Leedey, Oklahoma.

I’m writing on behalf of all those who are chronically sick, fatigued, depressed, anxious, cancer-ridden, hormonally off, coping with allergies, suffering with pain, digestively wrecked, and accidentally dependent on multiple medications. We deserve to know the truth about how Monsanto's herbicide Roundup has made us a devastatingly sick population.
